The Emergency Microphone Unit provides the same functions as the standard microphone unit. In addition, it includes a self-diagnostics electronics which monitors the operation of the microphone and cables and the integrity of the connection to the C8MSE unit, in compliance with the EN60849 Standard. When used in “emergency mode”, all calls generated by the emergency microphone have a priority over all other users. Also, when in “emergency mode”, it is possible to activate any “physical” or “virtual” alarm input from the microphone keypad. In compliance with the EN60849 Standard, the emergency microphone works even in case of malfunction of the ES-CE unit, provided that the power supply is still present.
To make these functions possible the emergency microphone requires an additional connection towards the CSE, by means of a twisted-pair Cat.5 cable. The unit is provided with a dynamic microphone with push-to-talk button and coiled wire, a flat keypad for call type selection, backlit LCD to display operations in progress, internal micro-switch for code setting, socket for connection of an external wall power adapter (supplied), double RJ12 Bus socket for LINE-IN LINE-OUT connection for standard operation, RJ45 socket for priority emergency line and switch with safety lock for selection of operation mode. Only one emergency microphone unit can be connected to the Leonardo CSE Central Unit. Aluminium body with painted back panel, suitable for wall installation in Gewiss-type recessed box item 44819 (supplied separately, item QP44819).
